VV Boutique.

alright, so let me just say that I love life right now. I just found some amaaazing clothing items at Value Village, & I need to share them with all of you. I was sifting through the "short skirt" rack, when I came across the most amazing gorgeous blue leather skirt. 100% leather vintage skirt, made by "Margaret Godfrey". I went lookin' for info on her, but only came up with a pair of leather pants selling on ebay for $30. anywho, my next find was my second new love, a pair of leather boots with a slight alligator-type texture to them. I can't hold out any longer, here are some pics!

I'm in love! cheers :)

speak of the devil 01/23/09

omg. You wouldn't know it by my ♥ for music, but until last night I was actually a concert virgin (now, we're excluding the Backstreet Boys concert I attended when I was 11). anywho, my friend Ben invited me to see his friend's band play. EFFING AMAZING. top notch opening bands, comedians, alt. models, a freaking light show and the sickest vocals I've ever experienced live. I even got hit on by a random, which was a given considering it was held at a bar. in any event, here are some photos from the show, and I highly suggest you check these guys out 'cause I think they're gonna go pretty far with their music.

in concert: I believe they're playing a show at the Reverb sometime in February, either the 12th or the 21st...my brain was scrambled last night due to the insanity of this show, so if you're really interested, check them out on Myspace!

cheers!

blue, not just a colour.

I was feeling a little blue yesterday. I always wondered where that saying came from...I still don't know but maybe someday when I have nothing better to do I'll research it's origins. anywho, I find music always cheers me up. playlist for the next ten minutes:

Kids - MGMT
High & Dry - Radiohead
Hyptnotize - the Notorious B.I.G.

I know it's sad but I JUST discovered Radiohead. oh sure, I'd heard of them previously, but I always had this mental image in my head of what they would sound like, so I pretty much avoided them for the 20 years I've been alive. pretty silly to have judgements about music that you've never heard, and I've certainly learned my lesson. don't judge a book by it's cover - or music by it's CD case!

and just to make this blog excruciatingly long, I just have to say one thing. please don't judge people. lately for some reason I've been feeling overly scrutinized, for no reason in particular. perhaps it's because I just turned 20, and I'm feeling overly self-concious. in any sense, the feeling of people judging you is not a good one so the next time you see someone who looks a little different walking down the street, how about giving them a smile instead of commenting on their outfit? just a thought.

cheers!

let's jump right in here.

I'm not too sure what I'm doing here. in fact, I'm almost positive this will develop into my school project. I was just sitting on my bed, staring out at the lovely city lights of Rexdale (please note the sarcasm), and I felt like writing something. I know I have to do a blog for PC Merchandising sometime soon anywho, so let's kill two birds with one stone. um. fashion. good place to start, considering I'm in Fashion Arts. I was watching a little video for the latest "Stella McCartney" (I quote because I could be terribly wrong) runway show and I noticed large slouchy 80's style jackets were a main theme. this was funny to me becaaause, earlier in the day I saw a girl in the cafe wearing a big black slouchy men's-style jacket, and I thought it looked absolutely adorable on her. I think I might try my luck at finding something similar at Valu Village.-sigh- not only is it hard to keep my attention, I'm trying my best to say something that will capture someone else's attention. it doesn't seem to be working, and homework awaits. I suppose this will be all for this time, cheers!
